Taking the Leap of Faith

Why start your own small business? Because of THE JACKALS. That's right, the Jackals!

You know who they are: They are the bosses who don't appreciate (or are jealous) of your hard work, success, and vision.

These are the people who go over to your desk at 4 p.m. on a Friday afternoon in the summer and say, "This needs to be on my desk by Monday." (Of course they never read your work until next Tuesday or Wednesday, which is why you're still reading this intro.)

The Jackals suppress your creativity and don't care how much business you generate or can generate. Your destiny is to learn from the Jackals—as soon as possible. The Jackals will not fulfill your business creativity: You must break free from the fancy prison of working for someone else.

Here is a story of inspiration:

An attorney worked night and day for partners in a law firm. The firm was experiencing some financial problems and downsized by letting a partner and several associates "go" (euphemism for THEY WERE FIRED).

The attorney, who generated a significant amount of revenue for the firm, believed that he was immune from downsizing because of his ability to bring in clients.

That belief was shattered when the office bookkeeper (who had just adopted a baby the week before, and needed health care coverage, and of course, income) was fired along with the attorney. (The Jackals lack compassion as well.)

The attorney then visited his good friend and mentor, the accountant, who told him the following story in turn:

"When I was a young CPA, my uncle employed me in his firm. When his biggest client went bankrupt, I was fired. So I took out an ad in the newspaper that stated 'CPA available 2 days a week for per diem work.' The calls soon came in asking which two days I was available. Since I was really available every day, I ended up working EVERY DAY and my career was launched."

The CPA then said to the attorney,

"Now is the time to start your own business. Give it a shot! If you fail, you can always return to the Jackals.... Otherwise, you can make your own hours and set your own dress code."

(Hence the term "making money in your underwear" became a way of life.)

Now is the time to follow your own vision of creativity.

Small Business Rescue is designed to provide the tools to the small business owner to gain the competitive edge in today's global marketplace.

Good luck. We ourselves are proof of the ability to succeed: Our founder, the attorney in this story of inspiration, is the creator of Small Business Rescue: Richard A. Solomon, Esq.

Now it’s your turn to own and run your small business.
