| Richard
Solomon is an expert in the analysis and recovery of commercial debt. (Commercial debt is
vastly different from consumer debt because commercial debt, also known as “business
debt,” concerns the obligations running from one business to another.)
Currently, Richard Solomon advises the following companies in the management and enforcement (i.e., litigation) of business-related debt:
Richard Solomon will be giving a seminar to small business owners on the single-most
important issue
facing business today: the analysis and collection of receivables. Cash flow measures the health of
every business. If your business cash flow is less than it should be, then
it's time to take a look
at the types of businesses you are extending credit to and explore the issue of trying to recover
all or part of the debt or writing off the debt as “uncollectible.” One part of the seminar will
focus on the analysis of debt and determining whether it will be worthwhile to pursue the debtor. Other speakers scheduled to appear: Martin Porush, President of Intertrace Corporation, a nationwide asset location firm (800-875-5400), will lecture about the dynamics of locating a debtor's assets, evaluating debt before litigation and after judgment, as well as understanding the significance of debtor corporate name changes. Included, among other topics, is the essential information you need to collect before you extend credit to any business. Kenneth Rubinstein, Esq., will lecture about various topics including your own comprehensive asset protection. Mr. Rubinstein will also provide insights on various types of debtor defenses, and will show you how to anticipate their reactions to your collection and enforcement efforts. Who Should Attend This Seminar? All small business owners who extend commercial credit to their customers (for example, equipment leasing firms), or businesses that issue invoices with an expectation to be paid in a specified number of days (for example, attorneys who bill on an hourly basis). This seminar is perfect for anyone who runs or manages the credit department of a business regardless of size. Because this seminar focuses on "commercial debt," it is not designed for anyone seeking the collection of a personal debt (example: the loan you extended to a relative for a personal matter). This seminar will be taught in plain language because it is designed for the general public and not for attorneys or accountants, and will not incorporate a lot of "jargon." What You Will Learn? This seminar focuses on the most critical part of your business: cash flow. Collecting money is essential to your continued economic survival. You will learn to reduce your risk and how to accurately document your files to enhance your collection efforts. We will teach you about the enforcement of your rights as a creditor in small claims court for small cases, and how to select and work with attorneys on substantial cases. We will also teach you when to abandon collection efforts in order to avoid spending limited corporate assets on hopeless cases. Most important, you will learn from other small business owners who have wrestled with the problems of business debt collection, and have fashioned their own methods to save time, effort, and to reduce costs. How to get there: By Train: Call the Long Island Railroad for timetable information, 718-217-LIRR, and take the Port Washington Line (leaving from either Penn Station in Manhattan, or from Port Washington in Nassau County) to Bayside. As you leave the train station, exit onto Bell Boulevard and walk south in the direction of Northern Boulevard. (The best landmark to provide is the White Castle Hamburger Restaurant located on the corner of Northern and Bell Boulevards.) Continue walking south until you see a C-Town Supermarket. The Victorian Lounge is located on the corner of Bell Boulevard and 40th Avenue. By Car: Take any highway that connects to the Clearview Expressway (e.g., the Long Island Expressway, Grand Central Parkway, Union Turnpike or Hillside Avenue) and exit onto Northern Boulevard East (also known as Route 25A). Travel east and then turn south onto Bell Boulevard. Light refreshments will be served. SEMINAR FEE: US $200. Please specify "Debt Collection Seminar" on your payment.
